Karma Hill Photography is a whole team of photographers across the Hawaiian islands, with a sister company, Simple Maui Wedding, that plans the bigger setups and lays out the flower circles. If you'd rather hand the logistics to someone else, this is the studio to call. It goes back to Karma Hill, who moved from Washington to Maui in 2006 and spent weekends sitting in the sand watching couples and families on vacation, wanting to hold on to what they were feeling. The business followed a year later, and yes, Karma is a real name. On the day, the photographer guides you as needed and encourages you to forget the camera is there. The first option is what they call ninja style. Someone hides behind foliage or lies on a towel like any other beachgoer while you walk your partner to the agreed spot. A partner who'd clock a stranger with a camera is better off with the pretend couples session, where the photographer puts you behind them about ten minutes in. There's also the Maui Ocean Center, where a diver turns up with a custom sign.
