Karma Hill Photography is a Maui proposal photographer built for the one moment you cannot redo. It all goes back to Karma Hill, who moved from Washington to Maui in 2006 and spent weekends sitting in the sand, watching couples and families on vacation and wanting to hold on to what they were feeling. We started the business a year later. And yes, Karma is a real name. Nearly 20 years later, that same instinct drives every shoot: stay invisible, catch the real thing, and hand you photos you will look at for the rest of your life.

What sets us apart as a Maui engagement photographer

We have local roots, so we know the light, the wind, and the timing on every beach. That means we land your proposal in golden hour instead of harsh midday sun. On the day, we guide you as much or as little as you need and get you to forget the camera is there.

Choose how you want us to capture it:

• Ninja style. We hide behind foliage or lie on a towel like any other beachgoer while you walk your partner to the spot. They never see it coming.
• Pretend couples session. For a partner who would clock a stranger with a camera, we pose as a booked couples shoot, then turn the lens on you about ten minutes in.
• Maui Ocean Center. Our diver surfaces with a custom sign inside the aquarium tank. Unforgettable, and completely unexpected.

Our Maui proposal packages make planning a proposal in Maui genuinely easy. You pick the spot and the style, and we handle the rest: scouting, timing, the surprise. Proposal-only coverage starts at $850 and scales to the full Wailea resort setup, and many of our couples roll straight into an engagement session once the ring is on. We send a sneak peek of 20 to 30 images about a week later, with the full gallery in 2 to 6 weeks.
