Stephanie and Son Le, husband and wife, started Last Minute Photoshoot in 2021 after both were furloughed during COVID. Stephanie shoots and edits. She grew up in Los Angeles, where her dad's camera helped support the family, and a photography course in San Diego after high school changed the way she looked at it.
Son handles the planning, and the name is meant literally. People have messaged them from the airport or from outside a jewelry store asking whether the proposal could happen that day, and when the calendar is free it can. Even a rushed plan gets a cover story, a timeline and GPS pins for where to park, meet and ask. That matters more here than usual, since most of their clients are traveling from out of state and many are seeing San Diego for the first time.
On the day they blend in as tourists, another couple or someone photographing the view, and now and then they stage a casual exchange to steer you into position. They stay in touch with you by text and signals while it unfolds, then start a short portrait session while it's all still fresh. In San Diego there's also a boho picnic proposal at Sunset Cliffs, which they style, set up and pack away themselves.
