Katarina Wolnik

Katarina Wolnik was a journalist for years and is a philologist by training, and she still writes now and then, including a book about Barcelona for National Geographic. Her father was a projectionist, and she grew up among his videotapes and films and in the projection booths of the big cinemas in her home city. She has photographed more than 400 couples since 2014. On the day she stays hidden until your loved one says yes, then comes out and says hello, and it's all over in about half an hour. Montjuïc at sunrise is her usual spot, because that's the only time it's private, and in her photos from one cloudy morning there's nobody on the terrace but the couple and the stone statues. If mornings aren't really their thing, there's a private terrace with a view of the Sagrada Família instead. There's a boat trip too, with a local captain, and a picnic. For a fee the photos come back within 24 hours.
