Alex Kaplan Photography

Alex Kaplan has photographed couples across Northern New Jersey and New York, and
he's shot more than five hundred proposals. He works documentary-style, blending into
the park like someone out for a walk with a camera. He reads the sightlines before she
shows up. By now he knows where a guy with a camera goes unnoticed once the ring comes
out. Central Park's Loeb Boathouse and the Met Cloisters are home turf. Photo and film
both, thirty years in.
